CHINESE
TRADITIONAL BELIEFS
There Are Three Main Traditional Beliefs...
* Buddhism
* Taoism
* Confucianism
Buddhism
is a religion and philosophy indigenous to the Indian subcontinent and encompasses a variety of traditions, beliefs, and practices largely based on teachings attributed to Siddhartha Gautama, who is commonly known as the Buddha (meaning "the awakened one" in Sanskrit and Pali). The Buddha lived and taught in the eastern part of Indian subcontinent sometime between the 6th and 4th centuries BCE. He is recognized by Buddhists as an awakened or enlightened teacher who shared his insights to help sentient beings end ignorance (avidyā), craving (tanhā), and suffering (dukkha), by recognizing dependent origination and sunyata, and attain Nirvana.
Taoism
(pronounced and also spelled Daoism; Chinese: 道教 or 道家; pinyin: dàojiào
or dàojiā)
is a philosophical and religious tradition that emphasizes living in harmony with the Tao (Chinese: 道; pinyin: dào).
The term Tao (or Dao, depending on the romanization system used) originally means "way", "path" or "principle", and can be found in Chinese philosophies and religions other than Taoism. In Taoism, however, Tao denotes an obscure metaphysical force which is ultimately ineffable: "The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao." In Taoism, the Tao is the source and essence of everything that exists.

Confucianism
is a Chinese traditional belief as well as an ethical and philosophical system developed from the teachings of the Chinese philosopher Confucius ,"Master Kong”. Confucianism originated as an "ethical teaching“, during the Spring and
Autumn Period. But then later developed metaphysical and cosmological elements in the Han Dynasty. Following the abandonment of Legalism in China after the Qin Dynasty, Confucianism became the official state ideology of China, until it was replaced by the "Three Principles of the People”. The core of Confucianism is humanism, the belief that human beings are teachable, improvable and perfectible through personal and communal endeavour especially including self-cultivation and self-creation.
