Education in China
The educational system in China is broken down into three categories, basic education, higher education and adult education. There is also a Special Education for disabled children, an Online Learning for children who live too far away from school and also Private Schooling. It is compulsory to attend at least nine years of school (Basic Education) but there are twelve years available.
Within the large country of China there are over 200 million primary and high school students who formone sixth of China’s overflowing population. Because of this, the government sought about re-building run-down structures and turning them into schools. Every year teaching and research equipment, books and working materials are updated and replenished.
Basic Education: The basic education can begin from as young as the age of three. It includes pre-school education, primary education and regular secondary education. It is necessary to attend nine years at school however twelve years are offered. There is also aneducation supplied for disabled children. Everybody is given the chance and the right to have an education. The typical school year is divided into two semesters and all children are required to start primary school at age six. Their primary school program is very much the same as ours, beginning at age six and ending at age twelve.
Children then move on to secondary school,which is more or less equivalent to our high school. Secondary education is divided into two sorts, specialized and academic. Specialized schooling was also known as vocalized, and it is designed to create a unique program to fit the special needs of each student. Academic schooling though, is the more affordable and popular option, and it is run by a public program to accommodate only the usual needs.
The Basic Education offers the chance for a simple yet thorough schooling.
Higher Education:
If you develop your education even more you move onto the Higher Education. The undergraduate level of the Higher Education included two or three years of junior college, otherwise known as the short-cycle of college. After that there comes the four year college and universities are available with both academic and occupational subjects. Colleges and universities also provide programs which lead to the master’s or Ph.D. degree.
The Higher Education offers the chance for a more detailed education and provides more opportunities.
Adult Education:
The Adult Education corresponds with the other two educational categories above. Within this category an adult primary is available which include
Workers’Primary Schools, Peasants’ Primary Schools, and literacy classes. It includes radio/Television schools, a school for staff and workers, even schools for peasants and all of which are specialised secondary schools. There is also a higher Adult Education which offers an education at college or university.
